Instructor Lorena Plasencia was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She attended college in Seattle where she studied Sociology and Social Welfare. There, she began getting involved in education at local schools and through various programs such as Jumpstart and Freedom Schools. She now works as an Art Impact Fellow at the Crocker Art Museum with the Block by Block Initiative. Ms. Plasencia’s work with these organizations and with toddler and youth programs at the Crocker inspires her to engage young people in creative ways that helps foster critical thinking and expression.
