Intensive Sketchbook Drawing

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

Study the art of the German masters found in the Crocker’s renowned collection, and their ability to capture the human form and emotion through sketching. Learn about the principles of sketching and its function to process an idea or record a thought when inspiration strikes. Participants will take away a sketchbook filled with their own original drawings.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise.

Instructor Shanon Essex was captivated by drawings in books and newspapers early, choosing a creative life immersed in visual arts, design and music. That choice lead to a BFA in Painting & Drawing from San Francisco’s Academy of Art in the Spring of 2000. His fine art painting, drawing is enjoyed by private collectors and has been included in interior design projects nation wide. Shanon enjoys sharing his diverse creative talents and experience instructing drawing and painting classes in Northern California since 2013.
