Master the basics of acrylic painting through demonstration and practice. Participants will learn how to use color theory, as it applies to light and dark forms, to create the illusion of three dimensions on a two-dimensional surface. Some portrait drawing experience is recommended.

Instructor Patris left the education profession in 2004 to pursue her art full-time. She has recently been juried into several national plein air painting competitions and her work is in many private and public collections. She served on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and is a member of the California Art Club, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and Landscape Artists International.
