NOTE: This event has been cancelled.
Take part in the raku fire process, known and prized for wildly random special effects, by glazing pre-formed and fired vessels. (Participants will get to know the process by viewing the raku fired works of American Expressions/African Roots: Akinsanya Kambon's Ceramic Sculpture.) Artist Brian Tanner, a long-time friend and colleague of Kambon, will lead the firing experience and provide insights about Kambon’s work, which will be viewed and discussed. Plus, participants get to sip wine while watching experts play with fire. Presented in partnership with Alpha Fired Arts.
No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise.
