NOTE: This event has been postponed.
This free two-hour field trip is a walking photography experience for photographers of all skill levels. The trip will focus mainly on bird and landscape photography and the skills to make better images, including basic concepts in composition and camera settings.
It is recommended you bring cameras which can be preset for focus and shutter speed and a lens capable of zooming from wide angle to telephoto. If you have a monopod you can use it to steady your hand or as a walking stick. You may prefer a tripod but on a walk you will be carrying it. Expect to leave the field trip with a working knowledge of basic camera settings and composition ideas.
The location is an easy walking path accessible to those with walkers or canes and lots of benches for those needing a rest.
Goals:
-Enjoy a morning of nature photography with an emphasis on birds (swans, geese, ducks, herons, egrets, hawks, bluebirds and woodpeckers), trees and flowers
-Learn camera settings for close up, still and flight shots
-Review aperture, shutter speed, and ISO
-Explore “rules" of composition
