FemmeFest 2020 (Postponed)

Presented by Sacramento Comedy Spot at Sacramento Comedy Spot

Note: In light of current public health concerns, FemmeFest 2020 has been rescheduled for June 26-28. Existing ticket and pass holders have been contacted.

The second annual Sacramento FemmeFest is a celebration and showcase of women in comedy. The lineup includes nationally recognized sketch groups, improvisers, and stand-up comics, as well as extraordinary local talent.

The Dune
The Dune is a dynamic collection of Bay Area improvisors who have been playing together for decades. With a solid grounding in a San Francisco style of character-and-relationship-based narrative, these improvisors shape-shift into wildly different worlds and spin tales that crackle with both humor and heart. This show features Claire Slattery, Regina Saisi, Lisa Rowland, and Rebecca Poretsky.

3-2-1 Sizzle
3-2-1… Sizzle is a rapid fire event series where sizzling burlesque inspires hilarious improvised comedy! This special FemmeFest reunion will feature an all Femme improv and performing cast, with acts celebrating self love and feminine fierceness! This show features Selena Sekhmet, ChaCha Burnadette, Salacious Kay, Sass Herass, Georgia Fire, and Jay Siren. It's hosted by Jay Siren.

Melissa McGillicuddy
Melissa McGillicuddy is a stand-up comedian based in Sacramento. As a newcomer to the scene in 2015, she won the Wildcard Competition at the Sacramento Comedy Festival. Since then, Melissa has opened for talented comedians such as Cameron Esposito, Rhea Butcher, and Vicki Barbolak. She has also performed at several comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest. Being an only (and super gay) child raised by a single mom in a conservative town, Melissa found she didn’t always fit in, so she used humor as a way to try and connect with people. Her dry wit and unique perspective on life make her a hit with audiences everywhere. Melissa also co-produces the Moving Van Show, a monthly, secret pop-up comedy show, as well as Sacramento FemmeFest, the city’s first all-female comedy festival. In 2019, Melissa was voted best comedian by the Sacramento News & Review.

Aurora Singh
Aurora Singh blessed her immigrant parents with her arrival into the world in January 1992 and continuously doused her sparkle upon the world as she grew up in Sacramento in the good ol’ Catholic school system. You won’t regret the deep belly laughs you experience as a result of her hilarious straight forward real comedy. Over five years of comedy on her belt performing with great names like Kabir Singh (Kabeezy), Joey Diaz, Steve Simone, Taylor Tomlinson, and Felipe Esparza! Her mom has even been quoted saying, “she’s hilarious!” Ready to ride the giggle train? You won’t be disappointed!
