FemmeFest 2020 (Postponed)

Presented by Sacramento Comedy Spot at Sacramento Comedy Spot

Note: In light of current public health concerns, FemmeFest 2020 has been rescheduled for June 26-28. Existing ticket and pass holders have been contacted.

The second annual Sacramento FemmeFest is a celebration and showcase of women in comedy. The lineup includes nationally recognized sketch groups, improvisers, and stand-up comics, as well as extraordinary local talent.

Kooky Pants
Kooky Pants is a fast-paced, character-driven, improvised story inspired by a song lyric. Sometimes dramatic. Frequently bizarre. Always kooky! This show features Ariel Hunter and Betsaida LeBron.

Femmedy Trio
Femmedy Trio is a musical comedy band made up of three BFFs, Dahlya Glick, Stacey Hardke, and Gabi Van Horn. Their ethereal harmonies and Appalachian instruments will bewitch you and tickle your feminist funny bone. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Josh Radner, Sasheer Zamata, Nicole Byre, Andy Erikson, and Margaret Cho. They’ve performed to sold out crowds at the Comedy Central Stage, Women in Comedy Festival, Sacramento Femme Fest, Austin Sketch Fest, the Hollywood Improv, and other venues throughout the US. Check out their album, Our First Album! and podcast Barely Composed available on all streaming platforms.

Chey Bell
Chey Bell is a bisexual comedian who’s brutally honest and uniquely clever. Often confounded by stupidity, Chey’s comedy mirrors life experiences and self-discovery, touching on everything from family, drugs, coworkers, and sexuality to misspelled tattoos. Chey’s energetic stage presence is engaging, silly, fearless and direct, just like her! Chey Bell has performed at SF Sketch Fest and Comedy Day, The Comedy Store – LA, Laff Factory – LA, Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, NY Comedy Club, Tommy T’s and more. Chey has also featured for comedian Rachele Feinstein, R&B artist Eric Bellinger, and has worked with Judah Friedlander and Fazon Love.

Sureni Weerasekera
Sureni Weerasekera is a Sri Lankan-born, San Diego-raised, and San Francisco-based stand up comedian, actor, and writer. Sureni combines her puppy-like heart with the void where her soul should be, to write captivating material. Starting at just seventeen, she has garnered respect in the Bay Area for her lighthearted, conversational banter to her ruthless, dark jabs that shed light on cultural dilemmas in a palatable, enticing way. She recently opened for Comedy Central’s Roast Battle Champion, Frank Castillo. She has featured at 2019 SF Sketchfest and Desi Comedy Festival. With an aptitude for writing, Sureni was awarded the 2019 Diversity in Comedy Writing Fellowship at Killing My Lobster SF. She is the creator of mini web series Medium Roasts.
