Encaustic Painting for Beginners II (Cancelled)

Encaustic Painting for Beginners II (Cancelled)

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

NOTE: This event has been cancelled.

Discover the ancient art of encaustic painting, a mixed media technique that involves heated, colored beeswax. Become familiar with this intriguing and increasingly popular medium by learning hands-on techniques, like using encaustic in collage, working under the wax, and embedding 3D objects. The instructor will cover safety, tools, and resources.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise.

Instructor Linda Nunes earned her art degree from Sacramento State University and has worked with encaustic and mixed media for the past ten years. Her contemporary work is about the narratives of life, the fault lines, and the beautiful flaws that make up everything. Her work has been shown throughout Northern California with additional art sales in Dallas and Santa Fe. Linda is an award-winning artist and dedicated member of the Sacramento art community.
