How to Photograph Your Artwork (Online)

Presented by Verge Center for the Arts at Online/Virtual Space

Having a strong digital portfolio is important to visual artists. However it can be challenging to photograph a work at home, especially during a pandemic wherein resources are limited.

In this two-hour class you will learn the simple ways to set up a makeshift studio at home for smartphone photography using things which are readily available. You will learn how to choose the appropriate lights and modifiers, and practical ways to light your 2D and 3D work via live demonstration. In addition, you will learn how to make a simple photo tent for photographing objects. Finally, the class will provide recommendations on useful camera and editing apps, as well as budget-friendly equipment.

She received a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California Davis.
