Celebration Arts Live: A Midsummer Night's Dream by The Macbeth Project

Celebration Arts Live: A Midsummer Night's Dream by The Macbeth Project

Presented by Celebration Arts Theatre at Online/Virtual Space

Enter Shakespeare’s enchanted forest of whimsy, mistaken identity, and jest—where fairies rule and love (eventually) reigns supreme.

The MacBeth Project presents The 30 Minute Shakespeare Project, built out of a community outcry for more African American representation in the classical theater arts. The MacBeth Project is producing 24 of Shakespeare’s plays, edited down to 30 minute episodes and performed live online to audiences worldwide. These episodes will be added to an online repository of cultural work provided completely free to the public in perpetuity.

The project uses new creative energies to push boundaries while including themes of ancient tradition, contemporary mainstream culture, and Afro-futurism.

This collaborative effort is helmed by The MacBeth Projects Artistic Director, Khimberly Marshall and includes partnerships with Celebration Arts, Sojourner Truth Multicultural Museum, Ma Series Arts, and The Brickhouse, with generous support from the California Arts Council.
