Celebration Arts Live: The State of Black Theatre in America 2020

Presented by Celebration Arts Theatre at Online/Virtual Space

In response to the current movement, this conversation reflects the current crisis Black actors, playwrights, staff, artistic directors, and board members are all facing at this time. This is our opportunity to continue evolving this much needed dialogue.

Co-moderated by Dr. Linda Goodrich, Professor Emeritus in Theater and Dance from Sacramento State University, and Melinda Wilson-Ramey, Associate Dean, Students and Personnel, College of Arts and Letters, Sacramento State University, the conversation will boldly address questions that need answers along with action to enact change. Where are we today? How are we surviving? Who is our audience? How have we evolved since the Black Arts Movement in the 1960s?

Panelist include:
-Marcus Crowder
-Lisa Lacy
-James Wheatley
-Anthony D'Juan
