Get ready for St. Patrick’s Day with a cracking good time in Jackson Hall. If you find yourself leaning in to the music of Goitse (Go-wit-cha), it is no coincidence. The Irish quintet’s name means “come here” in Gaelic, and their music has a distinctively beckoning quality. A hard-driving rhythm section featuring World and All-Ireland Bodhrán champion Colm Phelan and guitarist Conal O’Kane lay the foundation while the charismatic voice of Áine McGeeney draws audiences into the songs. Goitse concerts feature a mix of traditional tunes from Ireland and beyond and original compositions make each performance unique.
