Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Crocker's most well-known photographic works while learning about the role of photography in American life during the 1920s, '30s, and '40s. Taught by Associate Curator Jayme Yahr, the class will investigate photojournalism and the ways in which artists shaped popular magazines like LIFE, Look, and Parade.
Together, participants will ask and answer the question: What is documentary evidence, and what is art? Participants will also engage in lively dialogue and learn the fundamentals of analyzing photographs.
Note: All participants need access to Zoom. Registration closes September 9 at midnight.
