Thiebaud 101: Shape and Form

Thiebaud 101: Shape and Form

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

It’s not all pies, pies, and more pies! Celebrate Wayne Thiebaud’s 100th birthday with one, two, or three classes that explore all aspects of his unique draftsmanship. In Shape and Form, analyze works from Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings, Prints, and Drawings — his eighth show at the Crocker — and discover how the renowned artist uses well-defined shadows and shapes. Then, apply what you learned to a series of small drawings and studies of everyday objects. Registration closes October 13 at all 11 AM.

Want to learn more about Wayne Thiebuad’s catchy — and at times, mouthwatering — style? Try the other classes in the series: Color and Composition or Figurative Drawing.

Instructor Patris left the education profession in 2004 to pursue her art full time. She has recently been juried into several national plein air painting competitions and her work is in many private and public collections. She served on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and is a member of the California Art Club, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and Landscape Artists International.
