Thiebaud 101: Figurative Drawing

Thiebaud 101: Figurative Drawing

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

It’s not all pies, pies, and more pies! Celebrate Wayne Thiebaud's 100th birthday with one, two, or three classes that explore all aspects of his unique draftsmanship. In Figurative Drawing, explore some of the artist’s lesser known works, as seen in Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings, Prints, and Drawings. Then, learn contour and gesture drawing using pencil and charcoal before creating your own work on paper. Please note, participants must supply the following materials: a kneaded eraser, vine charcoal, and HB, 3B, 6B pencils.

Want to learn more about Wayne Thiebuad’s catchy — and at times, mouthwatering — style? Try the other classes in the series: Shapes and Form or Color and Composition.

Instructor Patris left the education profession in 2004 to pursue her art full time. She has recently been juried into several national plein air painting competitions and her work is in many private and public collections. She served on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and is a member of the California Art Club, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and Landscape Artists International.
