Wind/Water: An Interplay with Love

Wind/Water: An Interplay with Love

Presented by ACAI at Allied Ceramics Art Institute Studios and Gallery (ACAI Studios & Gallery)

Randy Won:
His artwork is an attempt to create a meaningful connection between the natural world and myself. It is part based on observation and the act of working with materials such as branches and clay, and partly inspired by my ethnicity or ancestry culture. The work is largely intuitive work. It starts from the outdoors in selecting components for the work and brought in my studio to finish the piece. They are the contemporary interpretation of Chinese bird-and-flower paintings.

Qinqin Liu:
Qinquin is an interdisciplinary artist with her Ph. D in botany.  She works primarily in drawing, watercolor, acyclic, and mixed media.  Inspired by natural beauty, she has created her artwork using the interplay of art and nature in the water and air from her heart and soul for 30 years.  She loves Plein air painting and drawings, and couples her work experience in water and climate with art to capture the connection of natural “FengShui” elements from White Mountain snow to the green forest and blue watersheds.
