Experience Architecture: Neighborhoods for All

Experience Architecture: Neighborhoods for All

Presented by American Institute of Architects (AIA) - Central Valley at Online/Virtual Space

As a part of AIACV's Experience Architecture 2020, join in for this panel discussion on envisioning an inclusive general plan for Sacramento.

Sacramento's 2040 General Plan will be the City's blueprint for how and where Sacramento will grow over the next 20 years. Upon its adoption by the City Council in early 2021, it will set forth sustainable policies guiding everything from transportation, to the type of homes available, to jobs, entertainment, public safety and much more.

A key aspect of the 2040 General Plan's Vision and Guiding Principles is that Sacramento's neighborhoods will be affordable and inclusive. In this session, the Chapter's Housing Task force will host a discussion on how the AIA Central Valley Chapter and the local architectural community can most effectively assist in the achievement of this vision, a vision where Sacramento's neighborhoods are 'Neighborhoods for All".

Zoom link will be provided to registered participants.

Experience Architecture is a public-outreach event designed by AIA Central Valley to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture.
