Creative Economy Recovery Grants Organizational Workshops

Presented by City of Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture at Online/Virtual Space

As part of the CARES Act Creative Economy Recovery Grant process, the Office of Arts and Culture has teamed with Katie McCleary and Estella Sanchez to provide mentorship and a series of workshops and labs covering various organizational operating strategies. The free sessions are intended to provide resources and support for our arts and cultural community, ensuring we survive and thrive as we face this pandemic together.

The workshops are free, but registration is required.

Workshops:
-November 4 (1pm-3pm): Master Your Money Mindset with Help from Others, Session 1.
Stacey Powell of Creating Answers and the Finance Gym will provide us with the tools, strategy, and mindset to master our finances, in particular through the process and framework of being in our own Mastermind Group. A Lab session will follow one month later.

-November 10 (10am-Noon): Tech 101 for pivoting during the Pandemic.
Mandeep Sethi of SETI X will teach us all how to level up our game when it comes to using tech tools to stream and engage our audiences/clients during this socially distanced time.

-November 19 (10am-Noon): HR Best Practices.
Katie McConnell Olson of Hire Education will provide a lively interactive workshop about the best ways we can navigate the ins and outs of Human Resources. From hiring to contractors to firing. Katie will give us clarity and information that we can use!

-December 2 (1pm-3pm): LAB: Master Your Money Mindset with Help from Others, Session 1.
Stacey Powell of Creating Answers and the Finance Gym will follow up with us on the tools, strategy, and mindset that she offered in session 1. We will be able to talk about what worked, what hasn't, and how we can connect with others in the field of arts and culture to start our own Mastermind Group.

-December 8 (10am-Noon): Re-imagining Non-Profit Management Structures.
Simon Mont of Sustainable Economies Law Center will share with us ways that we can organize, manage, and govern our nonprofits in creative, joyful, and more collective ways rather than the stale traditional model.

-December 15: The Power of Your Presence & How to Pitch Funders with Your Authentic Story and Self.
The group will explore how to bolster your natural presence to give a pitch to potential funders and donors using your authentic story and self.

-December 29: Power of Presence and Pitches.
In the labs, participants will follow up with their homework assignment from session 1 and workshop it with others and the Office of Arts and Culture mentors.
