Financial Empowerment Center Workshops

Presented by Hacker Lab at Online/Virtual Space

This webinar will provide an overview of the new Financial Empowerment Center (FEC), which is an initiative of the City of Sacramento.

The FEC provides free one-on-one financial coaching and financial navigation services to local residents. In this webinar we will review the different financial goals that the coaches help residents achieve. We will also review the types of resources the financial navigators aim to connect residents to who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Lastly, this webinar will include the different loan products available through the FEC.

About the Presenter:
Aiesha Noori was an English teacher in Kabul, Afghanistan. Due to the instability caused in the country by the ongoing wars between Taliban and the Afghan military, Aiesha and her family moved to the U.S. in 2012, and since then she has earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Sacramento State University while working as a clerk and manager at a local retail store. Her life goals center around helping others in need. In line with this passion, Aiesha has served as an interpreter at International Rescue Committee since 2018, assisting recent refugee arrivals to find local resources. Researching different cultures is one of her hobbies, and she speaks Dari/Farsi, Urdu/Hindi, and English. Outside of work, Aiesha likes spending time with her family, going to the movies, shopping, and sightseeing. She is a big fan of Bollywood movies.
