Socially-Distanced Clay Handbuilding for Beginners

Presented by Crocker Art Museum and Sacramento Area of Museums (SAM) at Crocker Art Museum

Slab, coil, and pinch a geometric, table-top sculpture in a class inspired by the works of Elsa Rady. Ceramics will be fired after the last session, and participants can retrieve their objects at the Crocker on a designated date.

Supplies are included, but participants must provide their own lunch and refreshments.

Instructor Mark Abiligard earned a bachelor's in art from San Francisco State University in 1979 and an MFA from the University of Hawaii in 1984. Abiligard taught ceramics in public schools for 20 years in Yolo County and worked with the Yolo County Arts Council. He is the recipient of numerous grants from the California Arts Council and taught classes in kiln casting glass at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, The Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, Red Deer College in Alberta, Canada, and in many other public and private studios.
