The Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento is hosting its 20th annual Crab Feed fundraiser on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Due to the current pandemic, this year’s crab feed will be a drive-thru, pick up event. It is our club and 501c(3) foundation’s largest fundraiser and we’re hoping you will be a part of it.

Dinner includes approximately 3 pounds (net after cleaning of approx 1.5 lbs) of cooked, cleaned, cracked fresh crab, salad, pasta and dessert. Add on order of crab (approximately 3 lbs, (net after cleaning of approx 1.5 lbs cracked & ready to eat) is $25. All food will be safely sealed and packaged for easy pick-up.

The club is a service organization with local roots dating back to 1948, but also part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one community and one child at a time. Its members devote many, many hours volunteering on community service projects in the Greater Sacramento area to help serve our youth. It also actively supports the Kiwanis Family House.

The House provides temporary housing and support to families of seriously ill or injured children and adults being treated at University of California Davis Medical Center, Sacramento.

There have been a few questions about how much crab is included with each meal.  Here is how our crab supplier explains it.

We order 3 pounds per person. That’s 3 pounds of cooked crab before it’s cracked and cleaned. That ends up as approximately 1.5 pounds of cracked, ready to eat crab in each order.

Now for the past 19 years, we’ve ordered crab based on this same formula for our “all-you-can-eat” crab feeds. Some folks eat more, some eat less and it all balances out with 300 guests. If you are one of the bigger crab eaters, then we recommend ordering an extra order of crab.  For most folks, a single order should be plenty.
