Featuring local talents like Deon Taylor plus award-winning films like Give Us This Day, the Sacramento Black Film Festival (Cine Soul) has created a name as a stand-out in the world of African American cinema.

The program serves the African diaspora of film by exhibiting local and international works, building the local film making community through events and educating Sacramento audiences about African American film history.

This year's show will also honor Cicely Tyson.

This Year's Feature: The Tough Love Show
This is the real life story of how one father, Tommy Tucker, went viral trying to reach his son with a sign at an NBA game. The movie gives an inside look at what it's like to be a father and son while the whole world is watching. You'll see the innermost feelings on display, as father and son adjust and persevere through life's hurdles.

Also featuring the following short films:
-Authentic by Tommy Ross: Real talk in the barbershop: Is it possible to have a real debate and still recognize that it's ok to disagree?
-Bloom by Christopher and William Derrick: Ambitious underdog, Darnel, will go great lengths to obtain respect. But he may lose more than that when he takes on notorious battle rapper Yung Ammo.
