Help your student improve their writing and reading skills while having fun this summer!
In week-long creative writing summer camps, students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction with 916 Ink staff and guest artists. They will engage in 5 days of workshop sessions with fellow writers, learning to engage playfully with language. Each day will include writing prompts and activities to empower these young writers to tell their own story. Local guest artists will also visit to engage students in new storytelling methods, incorporating fine arts, music, hip-hop rhymes, spoken word, and more.
For virtual camps, each student will receive an Adventure Box mailed to their home, which includes a t-shirt, fun swag, and creative materials to be used in the week's activities.
Note: Sessions vary by grade and by virtual or in-person, so check their website for details.
$400 per registrant (limited financial aid is available).
*Free for students residing within the Sacramento Promise Zone boundaries.
