Upcycle Pop Eco Art Market

Upcycle Pop Eco Art Market

Presented by The Atrium at The Atrium

This eco-art market known as Upcycle Pop is an outdoor art and maker market for eco-friendly products, art, and creatively upcycled items located in the historic district of the Old Sacramento Waterfront. The market happens Saturday and Sunday mornings with different eco-friendly vendors and open art studios. Produced by and located at Atrium 916, Sacramento’s Creative Innovation Center for Sustainability at 1020 Front Street.

Outdoors, you can join family-friendly, kid-friendly things to do like painting a canvas, making chalk art, taking a picture with art installation wings by Yennie Zhou, playing our Recycle Challenge art game, and enjoying locally brewed Kombucha.

Tour its open artist studios and meet some of Sacramento's most talented eco-friendly creatives. You might catch a live performance from a local band or even catch some artists upcycling discarded items. It's always different and always a surprise.

If you’re not up on the green lingo and are asking what is upcycling? The best way to think of upcycling is that it’s like a sexier, even greener version of recycling. Upcycling adds value by transforming or reinventing an otherwise-disposable item into something of higher quality. It’s the ultimate in reuse–and we believe a whole new industry sector is shaping up around it. Old Jeans are turned into reusable shopping bags, pallets turned into urban chic furniture, and plastic bottles into Geodesic Sphere Chandeliers.
