River City Food Bank is excited to host its 18th annual Empty Bowls fundraising event on August 26!

This event provides essential operating support to ensure that we can provide healthy, nutritious food to our neighbors experiencing hunger.

Although we have shifted to a virtual platform this year, your support has never been more critical.

In 2020, RCFB served more than 2.7 million pounds of food to nearly 231,000 men, women and children in the Sacramento region- a 30% increase from the previous year. RCFB continued to provide services throughout the pandemic when our neighbors needed us most.

COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges, including an enormous spike in food insecurity. Seniors were isolated, children could not access free meals at school, individuals faced homelessness and families experienced hunger in record numbers. While last year was marked by significant hardship and uncertainty there was hope in the face of adversity.
