Online Book Launch: Stories on Stage Sacramento Anthology

Presented by Stories on Stage at Online/Virtual Space

Award-winning, nonprofit writing workshop and literary performance series Stories on Stage Sacramento is proud to announce the publication of its first anthology, Twenty Twenty: A Stories on Stage Sacramento Anthology. The book contains 43 essays and short stories written by Northern California authors and guest authors including Karen Bender, Anita Felicelli, Joan Frank, Debra Gwartney, Sands Hall, Pamela Houston, Vanessa Hua, Joshua Mohr and Peter Orner. The anthology was edited by SOSS co-director Dorothy Rice and designed by local artist Angela Caldwell.

The stories tackle diverse themes under the headings Masks, Resilience, Monsters, Kinship and Time, touching on many aspects of a year that proved catastrophic beyond anyone’s imagining. The devastating toll of COVID-19, life under quarantine, the closure of schools and businesses, the murder of George Floyd, wildfires that swept the West and more are all explored by the authors’ diverse voices and points of view.On July 23, 2021 at 5 p.m., join SOSS for a live virtual book launch on Zoom that will include readings from some of the featured authors by professional actors. Proceeds from the anthology will support ongoing SOSS programming, including paying authors and actors for their work. (SOSS is a 100% volunteer-supported organization with no paid staff.)
