Hear from the creative team from Makani who developed the world’s largest energy kites.
Makani, a company founded in Alameda in 2006, set out to fight climate change by harnessing wind energy using kites. Hear from Makani founders as they take you on a journey from their kite surfing inspiration to the development of the world’s largest rigid-winged energy-producing kite.
The Makani M600 Kite and two other Makani prototypes joined the Museum’s collection of over forty aircraft in October of 2020 and are now on display within our indoor pavilion and exhibit space.
