Trains, Planes, and Art Mobiles: Buckle up for gallery adventures, spaceships, and flying machines! After a year of staying in one place, art is on-the-go in this horizon-bound camp that dives into a variety of art media, from sketching to sculpting, while exploring objects that move through air, on land, and in space.

Crocker Art Camp is back! Connect with old and new friends at the Crocker’s new outdoor studio during week-long, fun, learning experiences that include art projects, recreation, creative free time, gallery lessons, and tours of the Museum’s special exhibitions.

What’s the same? A high-quality camp experience, led by professional art educators, that offers campers an opportunity to build creative and critical thinking skills. As always, Crocker Art Camp will feature art-making using a wide variety of materials, lots of fresh air and socialization, and gallery adventures with experienced guides — all set in a world-class cultural institution. In addition, each camper will get a “Crocker Kid” t-shirt and parents will receive a mid-week newsletter.

What has changed? To ensure happy (and safe) campers, much of Crocker Art Camp will be spent outdoors and both campers and camp leaders will wear masks. We have also lowered our camper to staff ratio, eliminated food service and communal supplies, and concentrated all activities to half-day experiences.

How are we putting safety first?
-Masks are required for all campers and staff, indoors and outside.
-Campers will be organized into learning pods of five to six participants, with one dedicated educator per pod. Learning pods will remain in place for the duration of the week-long sessions. Siblings will be placed in the same pod.
-Other than gallery time, we will be outdoors. If we experience unhealthy air quality due to smoke, we will move indoors. Each pod will remain separate and occupy its own studio inside of the Museum.
-Each camper will have their own set of supplies, equipment, and materials for the duration of camp.
