“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered…”

Hopefully, it will not be storming and the spirit of Poe will not be in attendance, but we do have a bit of eerie curiosity at the soul of our October exhibit at ACAI Studios & Gallery.  We are honored to showcase the captivating and curious artwork of Phill Evans and Maureen Gilli. If you are familiar with their work, you know you are in for a thrill.

Maureen Gilli lives with an artful eye, curious and inspired by the world around her. Her pieces reflect her curiosity about the moon, mythology, cultures, and her fascination with owls, ravens, and other birds. Working in paper, collage, wood, and found objects, Maureen creates with a never-ending inquisitiveness and zeal.  You will not want to miss her “Parliament of Owls” or her spirited paper sculptures. She and Phill even collaborate on several pieces, including her Moon Goddess.

Phill Evans and his distinct kinetic sculptures are well known in the art world. His curiosity and exploration continue to inspire his sculptural interpretations: people and personalities in whimsy and song, places and transports in stone and metal, objects and spirits in motion and rest. Phill has received national awards in ornamental metals and animated displays along with national and international awards for kinetic public art and sculptural environments. His imaginative creativity and kinetic design result in artwork you will find both whimsical and moving.

We are hosting our Open Gallery Reception earlier this month, so you will be able to share the experience again, after the event, with friends and family.   Our Open House event is Saturday, Oct 9 from 6 to 8 pm. Join us at the gallery for an open reception with live music, food, and drinks. You can meet the local artists and purchase any of the art. Come and be inspired and support local artists.

This show runs from October 1 through the 23rd in person and through the 31st online.
