The Sacramento Speakers Series is a community lecture series that runs from October through April with roughly one lecture per month. The series is open to the public by subscription to the entire series of speakers.

Colson Whitehead is an American novelist. Colson has established himself as one of the most versatile and innovative writers in contemporary literature in the modern era. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his novels, The Underground Railroad, a No. 1 New York Times bestseller and National Book Award winner, and The Nickel Boys, which became a best-seller after its release in July 2019.  His latest, Harlem Shuffle, a crime fiction set during the '60s will be released in September.
