In a series of eloquent vignettes, The House on Mango Street tells the sometimes heartbreaking, deeply joyous coming-of-age story of Esperanza Cordero, a young girl growing up in a Latino Neighborhood of Chicago in her tiny house on Mango Street where she must face the harsh realities of the modern world. Sandra Cisneros’ award-winning novel, beautifully adapted by Amy Ludwig, has been acclaimed by students, teachers and parents alike.
The House On Mango Street is a staged reading made possible in part by a grant from Teatro Nagual.
