Yemanya Napue: Women's HerStory Month

Yemanya Napue: Women's HerStory Month

Presented by The Brickhouse Gallery at The Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex

The Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex will celebrate Women's HerStory Month with a quilt and doll exhibition and a women's conference on healing the mind, body, and spirit through art, dance, gardening, quilting, and doll-making workshops.

The Opening Reception will feature Michelle Smith's "Journey to Self Care" workshop and Fatima Malik and Yemanya Napue leading the "Womb Healing Circle."

An accomplished seamstress, Yemanya applies her skills to handmade dolls, quilts, beadwork, leatherwork, and costuming for stage and film. Yemanya’s artwork has been shown in museums across California, such as the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, the Haggin and Wildlife Museum in Stockton, and the Nicodemus Historical Museum, as well as costuming for many featured films. She designs and crochets fabulous sweaters, crowns, and clothing, and models her own creations. A talented artist, her work has been described as "painting with thread".
