After two years of being closed to public events due to Covid-19, the Sacramento Turn Verein (STV) is once again opening its doors to the public to share German culture and festivities. The STV-German Language School is excited to host their annual fund-raising event, The Maifest.

The Maifest is a family friendly event, where you can dance, sing, craft, play, eat and drink-in the Spring spirit. Maifest is a traditional festival, which celebrates the arrival of spring, and nature’s bright reawakening after winter’s cold and darkness.

German food and drinks will be available for sale, as well as Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake) and specialties like Spätzle, Maibowle, and Spaghetti Ice Cream. The Maifest’s headliner will be the Alpentänzer Schuhplattler (German Dance Troupe) who will perform traditional dances around the maypole, accompanied by a live band.  In the afternoon, there will be free organized games and crafts for the kids, and face-painting. It will be fun for the whole family!
