State Parks Fair

Presented by California State Parks Foundation at California State Capitol Park

State Parks Fair will have multiple booths available on different topics so guests can learn a wide variety of information. The climate resiliency booth will be hosted by the Los Angeles Audubon/Nature Nexus Institute which will be featuring information about the climate resiliency work they are doing at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook State Park, as well as interactive displays of water management for native plants.

The equitable access booth will be hosted by the California State Parks staff. They will be featuring information about their Outdoors for All Initiative. This includes the California State Park Adventure Pass, State Library Parks Pass, and a revamped Golden Bear Pass Program. The honoring history and culture booth will be hosted by California State Parks staff from Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. They will be featuring information about California State Parks’ Reexamining Our Past Initiative, as well as providing an opportunity to provide feedback on the Draft interpretation Master Plan for the park.

The preserving wildlife and nature booth will be hosted by Groundswell Coastal Ecology. They will be featuring the monarch butterfly conservation work they are doing in state parks, including native plant displays to highlight how plants help with monarch butterfly conservation. The park experiences booth will be hosted by Calaveras Big Trees Association. They will be featuring their Three Senses Trail which is being rebuilt to enhance experiences for all visitors. Information will be presented about the new ADA trails, sensory stations, access trails, and more features to fully experience the trail.

Finally, the park funding booth will be hosted by California State Parks staff from Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park and they will be featuring information on the upcoming restoration efforts of the park’s historic lighthouse.

Additional booths from California State Parks Foundation to learn more and share your voice, a photo booth, and a booth from REI will be available.

Note: This event will be on the Capitol lawn along N St between 12th St and 13th St.
