Intermediate Improv class

Intermediate Improv class

Presented by Empire Arts Collective at Sierra 2 Center and 24th Street Theatre

So, you’ve tried improv, you’ve had a taste of that sweet, delicious improvised comedy, and you’re ready for more.

Good news, this class is just the one for you. Join Empire Arts for Intermediate Improv, a six-week class on Mondays. In this class, they take a deeper dive into scene work from a short-form lens and learn the skills it takes to build the perfect scene.

Students must have completed the Basic Improv class or have previous improv training to attend. Those taking the class must attend at least five out of six classes to be included in the final performance. All students must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination (either a vaccination card or digital record) on the first day of class at the door. All students must wear masks. Masks will be provided if you do not have one.

Instructor Jessilee Windhaus is a proud Sacramento native and a firm believer in the power of applied improvisation. With a background in both short-form and long-form comedy, she is a 20-year improv veteran who has trained with the Upright Citizen’s Brigade and The Groundlings and performed in cities all across the country. With over a decade of teaching experience, Jessilee holds a BA in Theatre and Dance from Sacramento State University and is the Co-Founder of the local performing arts nonprofit Empire Arts Collective and the Founder of That Plus Chips, a live sketch and improv comedy ensemble.

This class is presented by and all proceeds benefit Empire Arts Collective, a performing arts nonprofit whose mission is to incubate unique, inclusive performing arts opportunities that create joy and community for a variety of experience levels.

Note: Class will be in room 13 which is found upstairs.
