What the Crows Brought Me

What the Crows Brought Me

Presented by ARTHOUSE on R Gallery & Studios at ARTHOUSE on R Gallery & Studios

What The Crows Brought Me is solo exhibition featuring 20 new mixed media reliquaries created by assemblage artist Dianne Hoffman to honor the sacred exchange of recognition and transference between species. Through a progression of dimensional, staged vignettes, Dianne presents a visual narrative of the give-and-take relationship developed over time between humans and crows. Each work cleverly reveals the accumulation of a flockā€™s daily delivery of found objects offered as gifts of gratitude.

Dianne Hoffman is an accomplished mixed media artist with a primary focus in found objects and recycled materials mingled with collage, paint and clay. Her work conveys personal and fictitious stories with impactful sentiment. Since taking up residence in San Francisco in 1988, the city by the Bay, with its loving embrace of everything extraordinary and endless resource of possibilities, came to cultivate and nurture her creative impulses. She has been a full time artist of salvaged and repurposed components since 2010 with work found in collections worldwide and maintains an abundant workspace at Arc Studios and Gallery in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco.
