The Franklin Boulevard Business District (FBBD) is excited to announce its Mexican Independence Day Festival, the Back to the Boulevard, is back and better than ever!

In the 1970s and ‘80s, Franklin Boulevard was well known as the premier spot for cruising. Many current and former residents fondly remember going out with their families to the “cruise” on Friday and Saturday nights.

Back to the Boulevard will showcase 600 classic cars and offer local cultural music and dance performances, merchandise vendors, community information booths, and family-oriented activities. This year’s event will draw thousands of car club members and their families, local and statewide elected officials, neighborhood and community residents, and classic car enthusiasts from across the city and region.

Back to the Boulevard is sponsored by two nonprofits and a myriad of businesses and community organizations and involves volunteers from the community and many local car clubs and is designed to celebrate Mexican Independence Day and that history and heritage of Franklin Boulevard.

Note: Event will take place on Franklin Boulevard between 12th Avenue and Fruitridge Road.
