The Latino Center of Art and Culture is pleased to announce the annual ¡Fiesta de Frida!

Fiesta de Frida is a day to honor the legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and celebrate not only her artwork but her continued influence questioning colonialism, patriarchy, gender, and connection to indigenous culture. Setting the ambiance will be live music, DJs and performances, authentic Mexican food and drink, and a mercado with dozens of local artisans and vendors. Kids crafts will be offered, helping any kids who join make art and costumes celebrating the life of this amazing artist. All the children are invited to walk in the “Little Frida” parade.

And as always they will be hosting the popular Frida look-alike contest with cash prizes for adults! Participants are encouraged to interpret a painting in costume or dress in one of Kahlo’s many iconic styles or just show off your inner Frida!
