ReHumanized: Ancient Art Meets Modern Tech

ReHumanized: Ancient Art Meets Modern Tech

Presented by The Atrium at The Atrium

Step into a world of science fiction and fantasy as innovative Sacramento artist Rich Diltz unveils new work with an immersive experience gallery opening event. This gallery opening will be accompanied with wine and an artist interview.

Rich Diltz is a professional airbrush artist, muralist, and body paint artist. He applies paints and pigments to skin as people have done to celebrate life, death, war, courtship, and major life moments since the dawn of human culture, but adds a unique twist.

Diltz uses a multi-step process to convert this ancient ritual into a modern tech mind-boggle. Utilizing his brush skills he morphs bare-skin models into colorful beings. Using selective light, he photographs his works of art, to bring them into the digital world incorporating AI into the final result. Diltz explores ideas about self expression, the subconscious, and humanity.

“By starting with a vulnerable naked human, and manipulating the images as I do… I honor the individual, but also celebrate the things that tie us all together as the human race and explore the ideas we have buzzing in our brains.”

During the gallery opening event you will experience the process in action. Mingle with models who have been transformed by Diltz’s creative vision, and get painted yourself. Explore the stages of metamorphosis from paint to digital manipulation to print.

Art lovers and collectors are invited to the gallery exhibit. The gallery space is well ventilated with floor to ceiling accordion french doors that open to the patio, creating an indoor/outdoor setting.
