Come out for a four mile walk to raise funds and awareness for children’s literacy in Sacramento.

Pre-pandemic, 51% of Sacramento County’s children could not read at grade-level. Post-pandemic, the literacy crisis is expected to deepen with estimated rates of 60%-70% of children not reading at grade-level.

The literacy crisis in Sacramento threatens to drastically impact this generation of children, their future, and the future of the city. Sacramento’s literacy crisis requires bold action and massive public awareness.

The route will start at McClatchy Park, pass by Christian Brothers High School, Oak Ridge Elementary School, Bret Harte Elementary School, and Ethel Phillips Elementary School, and end back at McClatchy Park for a family fun festival.
