Acorn Day is returning to the California State Indian Museum in Sacramento!
Fall is the best time for harvesting acorns. Visitors can learn all about the process of turning acorns into food with California Native cultural practitioner, Diana Almendariz, and her family. Participants will be able to grind acorns with a mortar and pestle and see how acorn flour is cooked using hot stones. Plus, there will be hands-on activities and crafts for kids of all ages, as well as additional demonstrations and educational booths.
