Watchout Sacramento! The second annual City of Trees Parade is here! It will be a dazzling showcase of Sacramento’s rich diversity and culture through the format of Mardi Gras.
The City of Trees Parade will grace the streets, from the Capitol Mall through Old Sacramento, with vibrant art from the local community. The all-afternoon festival will have food trucks and local vendors along the parade route, and a beverage garden serving donated alcoholic beverages as a fundraiser.
Plus, Louisiana Sue Ramon will host her annual Mardi Gras Meets Carnival event at the Freeway Gardens of Old Sac, which is adjacent to the parade route, offering traditional Louisiana food, drinks, and more live music! Her Krewe of Gumbo will march in the City of Trees Parade.
The Krewe (the paraders) will include *1000* people, featuring Sacramento's culturally diverse performance and art communities. Together they will illuminate Sacramento with floats, art cars, marching bands, poi spinners, brass bands, dancers, beads, and so much more!
So grab all your purple, green, and gold (the traditional Mardi Gras colors!), and come join all the Sacramento Mardi Gras festivities!
