Sacramento Darwin Day

Sacramento Darwin Day

Presented by Sacramento Darwin Day Committee at SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity

Presenting the 26th fabulous year of the Darwin Day Birthday Gala, Sacramento's coolest, most singular, most go-to event of science and humanity, brought to you by area science advocates, civic groups and nerds on too much coffee. An in-person event this year, marking "Chuck" Darwin's 214rd birthday.

Darwin Day is a science-rush like no other. A celebration of scientific inquiry honoring of the life and work of the great Charles Darwin (b. 12 February 1809), sponsored worldwide by community and educational groups. They commend it to all science enthusiasts in the Sacramento area.

Key speaker will be Dr. Rachael Bay, of the Coastal and Marine Science Institute at UC Davis. Dr. Bay leads a group of researchers at The Bay Lab, aiming for insights into how organisms survive in environments and how anthropogenic environmental changes impact individuals, populations, and species.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the entire museum before and after. A special planetarium movie will be shown in the MOSAC Multiverse Theater, with donations going to the museum.
