The creative minds behind local studio Recluse Arts will come together to unveil an eco-conscious group exhibition. This event includes complimentary beverages and an exclusive interview panel with the artists.

Step into a fresh year of sustainable creation with Atrium as we highlight Recluse Arts for our first gallery show of 2023. Chris Herman, the graphic artist spearheading this collaborative effort, playfully dubbed this opening show “19 Spiders” after the creatures who shared their warehouse studio space. Herman began his artistic journey in early 2000 creating impactful black-and-white street-art throughout urban Los Angeles neighborhoods. He now takes skills he learned in those early years and applies them to his burgeoning fine art portfolio. His work incorporates layers of upcycled materials, custom-cut stencils, origami objects and various paints and pigments. This eclectic assembly of materials becomes a well-balanced and thoughtful composition.

Each of the artists Herman has gathered for this  exhibition come from their own unique backgrounds. Xenia Smith produces striking photography and abstract mixed media paintings. Decorative sculptures and installations by Erin Burgman incorporate a variety of upcycled materials. Colin Fulton is a screen printer who creates unique custom designs both on fabric and paper. Together, these four core members of Recluse Arts will showcase a whole spectrum of creativity across mediums. Art lovers and collectors alike are invited to the exhibition opening night. This event is free to attend and includes complimentary beverages. The gallery space is well ventilated with floor to ceiling accordion French doors that open to the patio, creating an indoor/outdoor setting.
