Cooking Demonstration: Using Your Ancestry to Manage Blood Sugars

In this class Melinda will demonstrate making a simple meal using the age-old standard American meal template of a protein, seasonal veggies, and a starch. For the menu you will be using the Co-op’s own rotisserie chicken, local potatoes and greens along with healing herbs and spices for you to sample in class. Vegetarian and vegan options will be discussed.

As a Registered Dietitian Specializing in Diabetes, Melinda Penny-Washington uses ancestry to return us back to our roots to heal using nutrition.

This class is designed for people living with prediabetes, diabetes, those who have a family history of diabetes and care for those living with diabetes.
