Sacramento Greek Festival

Presented by Sacramento Greek Festival at Greek Orthodox Church

The Sacramento Greek Festival proudly celebrates its 60th Anniversary with special performances, food specials, and commemorative Greek gear as event organizers express their sincere gratitude for the community’s support spanning six decades. The three-day event is a treasured local tradition celebrating the delicious food, wine and vibrant culture of Greece.

The 60th annual Greek Festival will offer "Anniversary Specials” combining the most popular menu items proudly served since 1963. The “Anniversary Pastry Box” includes baklava, kourambiethes and melomakarona. The “Anniversary Meze Box” features small bites like dolmades, feta-stuffed cherry peppers and Kalamata olives. Adding to the festive spirit are commemorative 60th anniversary t-shirts, aprons and a cookbook along with special performances throughout the weekend.

Guests will enjoy indoor and outdoor dining experiences on the spacious church grounds with tents for shade and plenty of seating.

The most popular food booths include:
-Gyro – Grilled pork or chicken slices marinated in Greek spices, wrapped in pita bread and topped with French fries, onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki (the famous cucumber, garlic and yogurt sauce).
-Meze (appetizers) – small bites you can’t get enough of like “saganaki” (flaming fried cheese), souvlaki, spanakopita, calamari.
-Zaharoplastion (pastry shop) - honey and butter-drenched baklava, kourambiethes, traditional Greek cookies and much more.
-Loukoumades- the "Greek mini doughnut" fried fresh on the spot, drizzled in honey, cinnamon and nuts.
-Agora (market place) - featuring authentic Greek olive oil and foodstuffs, unique jewelry and much more.
-Taverna (bar) - Greek wines and liquor, imported specialty Greek sodas and beer plus the Greek Lemon Blast signature cocktail.

An expansive a la carte menu will return along with crowd favorites like Moussaka and Pastitsio. Also back by popular demand, the Greek Lemon Blast signature cocktail inspired by the beautiful blue waters of Greece.

Greek Dancers will take the stage throughout the weekend and guests can join in the fun by participating in free dance lessons. Festival attendees can tap their feet to traditional live music from Mythos Band and DJ Chris Perris spinning the latest hits from the Greek Islands.

Four generations of volunteers - nearly 400 people - will come together to put on the Greek Fest, which moved "back to the block" on Alhambra in East Sacramento in 2017 where it all started sixty years ago.
