The Renaissance Society at Sacramento State provides learning and social opportunities for older adults in a casual and fun atmosphere. At an affordable $100 per year (September-May), or $60 for the Spring ’24 semester adults can take unlimited courses and participate in various activities and interest groups. In the Spring ’23 semester over 135 programs were offered including American and world history, current affairs, the history of popular music styles, group dinners, reading groups, walking groups, game playing, personal investing, cinema, science and engineering topics, digital photography and numerous social activities. No formal education is required. Many programs can be attended through zoom online or in-person on campus, typically on Fridays. One-time presentations on current topics and subjects of interest to older adults are also offered.
Registration for the Spring ’24 semester is now open and the spring activity catalogue will be available online on January 8th. Individual program enrollment begins online January 16th and an on-campus open house and orientation will be held on January 26th in the University Union. Classes and activities begin February 5th.
