Digital Map Resources for Tracing Migration

Digital Map Resources for Tracing Migration

Presented by Sacramento Public Library at Unknown

This lecture by genealogist Melinda Kashuba untangles the “spaghetti” of traces made by crisscrossing trails, canals, rivers, and railroads found on maps. The focus will be on internal American migration between states to answer questions such as: “How did they get here?”, “Where did they come from?”, “Was anybody left back home?” and “Did they return?”

Online maps and migration repositories will be showcased, and a demonstration of how to document your family’s migration using free, online mapping tools will be included.

Note: This program will be held in the West Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Central Library.
