You Call That a Book?: Artist Books and Prints by Katherine Venturelli

Presented by Friends of McClatchy Library at Unknown

Artist Katherine Venturelli is nationally and internationally recognized for her unique artist books and fine prints she produces in her printmaking studio in Sutter Creek. Her work is represented in many prestigious collections, including the Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, the Getty Research Center in L.A., the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and the Crocker Art Museum. Additionally, her work is included in the special collections at USC, Mills College, and the Sacramento Public Library’s Sacramento Room.

Originally trained as a sculptor, Venturelli has found artist books to be a satisfying medium for expressing her ideas. She has developed specific printmaking techniques to create the books by integrating etched copper plates into her book structures.

Note: The quarterly art shows are made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Ella K. McClatchy Library and the Friends of the Sacramento Public Library.
