The Singing Revolution

The Singing Revolution

Presented by Sacramento Children's Chorus at Unknown

Four choirs featuring over 150 children will sing under the direction of Lynn Stevens and Melanie Huber. The concert repertoire will include works by several artists that have made a difference in culture: Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Pete Seeger. Additionally, songs of freedom and peace, such as the famous "Finlandia," theme by Jean Sibelius, will be presented.

The audience will also hear a preview of songs scheduled to be performed this summer during the touring choir’s international travel to Helsinki, Finland and the countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In fact, the Singing Revolution refers to a time in the late 1980s when song helped restore the independence of these Baltic States.

Once again, an afternoon of beautiful singing is sure to enlighten, entertain, and inspire.
